ADMINISTRATOR/EDITORIAL ASSISTANT

 

JOB TITLE/POSITION:      Administrator/Editorial Assistant

 

LOCATION:   Lytham St Anne’s and Blackpool, but the post holder may sometimes be required to work at other locations nationally and internationally with prior arrangements.  Hence there is some travelling involved subject to prior arrangements.

 

THE APPOINTMENT

 

A Corporate Secretary/Legal Officer and Editorial Technician is required to provide general secretarial, legal duties, editorial technical work, attending meetings and hearings with appointed representatives, assisting in report preparations, dealing with queries, assisting in undertaking company secretarial work involving complying with legal requirements at the Companies House, and other Governmental Agencies, working as a case worker on sponsored community projects and legal matters, and general administrative duties as required from time to time in the Collaborated Community Health, Social care and Education Services,  and the collaborating international organisations in the community projects, including, the sponsored Fellows in the community or, community projects sites and other institutions as required. The projects are  based on undertaking various legal activities, research in healthcare issues and medical education, administering various community projects, assist in the work on the application of new technology in healthcare, and education, websites administration, and assists in the editorial work and production of various publications for journals and books.  Summary of the general duties is stated below.

 

SUMMARY OF GENERAL DUTIES:

The potholder would be required to undertake the following duties (please note that duties stated in the below are just for guidance and there may be other administrative duties to undertake in the position):

 

  • Undertake general editorial, educational and legal administrative duties.
  • Researching into various aspects of the editorial, legal and ethical work.
  • Taking statements and preparing notes for hearings, and liaising with courts, tribunals, solicitors, barristers and other organisations as required.
  • Undertaking Company Secretarial duties to collaborating projects of the collaborating member organisations in the community projects
  • Attending hearings and meetings and assist in the representation of team members.
  • Dealing with awards, scholarships issues and contracts
  • Assist in the editing and proof reading of reports, articles and documents prepared by the team members before submission for publication, and articles received for publication.
  • Liaising with the Webmaster and updating materials for the various collaborating Websites
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports of the teams’ works.
  • Assist in attending and presenting teams work in national and international conferences
  • Assisting in staff recruitment and supervision.
  • Compiling case bundles and delivering to the Courts, Tribunal, Chambers, Solicitors and other bodies as required in time.
  • Taking instructions from international editorial board members, ambassadorial and legal agents, senior officers and representatives and carrying them out as required
  • Dealing with Companies House issues and other corporate affairs, including liaising with Trustees/Directors and Committees as required.
  • Assisting in the production and editorial work of journals and books produced by the collaborating project teams.
  • Undertaking recruitment duties, involving advertising jobs, and dealing with applications and interviews.
  • Assisting in  the administration of the European and African Community Projects
  • Assisting in dealing with the organisations of national and international courses and conferences.
  • Assist in dealing fundraising and financial issues
  • Any general administrative duties, and other tasks and duties as

 

RATE OF PAY:    The rate exceeds minimum wage, and is awarded according to age, qualifications and experience.

 

 

HOURS:    Up to 10 hours per week.

 

 

DURATION:  Up to 3 months.  There may be an opportunity for the term of employment to be extended subject to availability of funds and other factors

 

 

CANDITATE REQUIREMENTS:

 

The right candidate would be required to be educated to high school/further education level minimum, but candidates with degrees or equivalent qualifications can apply.  The potholder is required to be computer literate and must have experience of working with Microsoft Office Suite packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher etc.  Must be able to use Emails and have knowledge of how to work on the Internet.  Web editing knowledge is an advantage, as the candidate will be required to liaise with the Webmaster and Internet facilities providers.  Previous administrative, Personal Assistant or Secretarial experience is an advantage.  Possession of Full Driving Licence is also desirable, although not essential.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT/CARER

 

JOB TITLE/POSITION:      Personal Assistant/Carer

SUMMARY OF POST

 

The post-holder will be required to:

 

  • Provide personal care duties to the Service Users in the community (adults and children), which includes washing/bathing, dressing and other duties as required.
  • Assist with mobility care for the Service Users
  • Assist the Service User in attending projects, schools, meetings, hearings etc.
  • Provide confidential personal assistant duties for the service users
  • Assist the service users in caring for hygiene, bathing and cleaning
  • Assist the service user in preparing/cutting food and feeding
  • Assist the service user in taking notes, typing and reading when required.
  • Assist in arranging of meetings/appointments and conferences.
  • Assist the service user with shopping, delivering messages, laundry and ironing etc.
  • Assist the service user in travelling to project and study venues
  • Assist the service user in travelling to Courts, Tribunals and other venues for meetings and hearings
  • Accompany the Service Users to trips and some events.
  • Liaising with healthcare and social care professionals and schools.
  • Dealing with general administrative and secretarial works as required.
  • To provide general assistance to the service users with regards to projects and educational activities
  • Assist in booking appointment for the service user
  • Assist the service user in travelling to project work or study venues
  • Delivering documents to Courts, Tribunals and at Solicitors and Barristers offices
  • Assist the user in attending to doctors and hospitals as required and in obtaining prescriptions from doctors and medicines from chemists
  • Undertake cleaning and other tasks for the Service User
  • Undertake laundry ironing and general duties for the Service User

 

 

THE APPOINTMENT:

 

A Personal Assistant/Carer, Administrator, and General Project Assistant is required to provide general personal assistant and caring duties to community Service Users,  and project administration work  to Community Service Users in Blackpool, and Lytham St Anne’s areas, Lancashire, and at other venues and sites nationally and internationally as may be required.

The major responsibility of the post holder will be to provide personal care, help with mobility, care for hygiene, and undertake some domestic tasks as required for Community Service Users in the Community-based Projects, including assisting in educational and health and social care activities and undertaking general administrative/secretarial works for the Community-based Projects as required, including some editorial assistant work. The post holder is also required to provide general administrative duties.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Health and Social Carer Qualifications and High School Qualifications or equivalent
  • Knowledge of First Aid is required, but training can be arranged when required.
  • Possession of UK Full Driving Licence is desirable, but staff who has Provisional Driving Licence and learning house to drive is encouraged to so.
  • Enhanced CRB checks and reports are required.  We would pay for this to be carried out, as it is the requirement for the position due to the fact disabled, sick and vulnerable people in the community and their families use our services.
  • All staff must provide evidence that they are eligible to work in the United Kingdom
